Parenting for Faith begins on 14th October 2024 at Bethany Church for 8 weeks.

We warmly invite you to join us for each session, but we understand that sometimes attending in person may not be feasible. That's why the course is also available for you to follow along from the comfort of your home.

If both you and your partner wish to participate in the course but are unable to attend together due to childcare commitments, consider having one of you stay at home to watch the course online while the other joins us in person. Then, when you reunite at home, you can share insights and discuss your thoughts and ideas.

We believe that every parent has the incredible potential to shape their child's faith journey. This course is designed not only to inform but also to inspire and empower you as you navigate the beautiful yet challenging path of parenting.

Join a supportive community of like-minded parents eager to share their experiences and learn from one another. Together, we can create a nurturing environment where our children can thrive in their relationship with God.

1. Positioned for Influence

Date of Session 14/10/24

This session of the course shows how, as parents, we are perfectly positioned and equipped to daily and easily show our child the reality of a day-to-day life with God.

God has shared with us in the Bible a simple plan for us to encourage our children into a vibrant, two-way relationship with God.

2. Making Sense of Life

Date of Session 21/10/24

This session of the course explains why and how we can give our children a spiritual framework for navigating life.

This framework will help them connect the knowledge they have about God with their experiences of life.

3. Unwinding Wrong Views

Date of Session 04/11/24

This session of the course helps us to see how we can accidentally contribute to wrong views of God, and gives us tools to proactively unwind them.

Rachel talks about five common views of God that children can create in their heads which cause a disconnect.

4. Conversational Prayer – Chat

Date of Session 11/11/24

This session (and the next) will help release our children into a two-way conversation of sharing life with God. ‘Chat’ is the first stage of that conversation and this session will equip you to introduce your child to chat.

5. Conversational Prayer – Catch

Date of Session 18/11/24

This session (and the previous one) will help release our children into a two-way conversation of sharing life with God. ‘Catch’ is just a way of showing children how to be prepared and expectant with their whole bodies to receive God’s communication.

6. Surfing the Waves

Date of Session 25/11/24

In this session, we will learn about a simple six-stage model that will enable you to proactively disciple your child whether they are 4, 14 or 40, and how, as our children’s spiritual lives come in waves, we can jump on board to disciple our children in any season of life.

7. Prayer Ministry for Children

Date of Session 02/12/24

In this session, we will be looking at a simple model of prayer ministry designed for use with children and teens to ensure we keep our high-priest hats off and our coach heads on, and we will be giving it a go ourselves.

8. Helping Children Connect with Church

Date of Session 09/12/24

In this session we will look at how we can help our children grow in the biblical values of what church is and their place in it, so they feel connected, powerful and loved in their communities.
